(Sep 9) RC Sofia International Regular Meeting and a Plan for the Rotarian Year (+GAL)

Rotary Club Sofia International held its first regular meeting after the summer vacation during which informal gatherings were held at Raketa Rakia Bar in Sofia. The President Joerg Schenk started the meeting with the introduction of some new ground rules. Later on the he announced the upcoming events for the coming months. We will have the honor to host the Ambassador of Norway on 30 Sept. 2015 and the Ambassador of Germany on 9 Dec. 2015.

The fundraising initiatives for this Rotarian year were discussed and a few proposals were put forward. The initiative, which the club will be supporting is the purchase of a mini bus for the “Children with Onco-Hematological Diseases” Association. Apart from the traditional Wine and Whiskey Fundraising Events of the club, a participation in the German Weihnachtsmarkt in Sofia and a Fundraising October Fest were considered.

Our friend and member Kiril Stoyanov recounted his visit to Rotary Club Brussel Cantersteen.

The President also received a Certificate of Appreciation form Graphya Foundation.

The fellowship then continued in a nearby bar.
