RCSI Announces the Laureate of Slavyanodeyatel 2012 Award – Prof. Valery Stefanov (+VID)

Rotary Club Sofia International announced on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Gala Dinner for the celebration of the new Rotarian year the laureate of the Slavyanodeyatel honorary award for the year 2012 – Prof. Valery Stefanov. The prestigious award is given for the enrichment and development of the Slavic culture and traditions. The awards are presented on an annual basis to 1 non-Rotary member and 1 Rotary member. The initiative is proposed by the Past President of the Rotaract Club Sofia International. Prof. Stafanov was awarded by the President of Rotary Club Sofia International, Mr. Plamen Lazarov.

Who is prof. Valery Stefanov: Valery Stefanov, born in 1958, is professor of History of Bulgarian literature at Sofia University. He graduated in Bulgarian Studies from Sofia University and since 1984 has been teaching there. He was also dean of the Slavic Studies Department at the university.
