(May 30) RC Sofia International Donates Books Together with Angels Foundation (+GAL)
RC Sofia International with President Mr. Michail Sougarev and Angels Foundation with President Mr. Ivelin Kichiukov carried out their first joint initiative. Books and school aids were donated to the Children’s Center Roncalli in Burgas, in the month of the Slavonic Alphabet and Culture.
The Director of the center, Mrs. Snezhana Vitanova and the kids accepted the donation with delight and gratitude. The noble initiative brought smiles and good mood.
Angels Foundation had put together, a year ago, the library corner in the kid’s center, where the children develop and enrich their knowledge and also meet their favorite characters form the fairytale.

Today representatives of Rotary Club Sofia International engaged in the grand opening of the newest cultural place in Sofia – the A+ Gallery. The gallery is opened by our dear Rotaract friends Ms. Angelika Radeva, Mr. Zlatin Orlov and other young and enthusiastic people. The gallery is situated on Vasil Aprilov street (next to the residence of the US Ambassador). Ms. Angelika Radeva is this year’s laureate of the Slavyanodeyatel award in the Rotary affiliated category. We wish the new A+ Gallery all the best in their exciting ventures. Today Rotary Club Sofia International held its weekly meeting at the Kempinski Hotel Zografski Sofia. Once again the members of the club welcomed friends of the club. We had the pleasure to welcome Mr. Peter Paul Löning from RC Meppen, Germany, as well as regular guests and friends. Our friends Andreas Kraus and Plamen Lazarov were awarded with a certificate as representatives of the Rotary Club Sofia International for the books donation (250) to the 145 school in Sofia city. Later on the fellowship continued, as usual, with drinks till late in the evening.
Today Rotary Club Sofia International held its weekly meeting at the Kempinski Hotel Zografski Sofia. Once again the members of the club welcomed friends of the club. We had the pleasure to greet again some of the sponsors of the Whisky Fundraising Evening and the president of the club had the honor to present them with certificates of appreciation for their support. The agenda focused on the Slavyanodeyatel annual honorary award. The laureates of this prestigious recognition were announced by the nomination committee. Later on the fellowship continued, as usual, with drinks till late in the evening.
Today the President of RC Sofia International received a Certificate of Appreciation from Angels Foundations by Mrs. Elena Ivanova, a representative of the foundation and a member of Rotary Club Sofia International. The certificate was awarded to the club for the support for the purchase of children’s books for Kids’ Center Roncalli in Burgas. The club together with the foundation purchased books and training materials for the library of the center. The library in Roncalli is established by Angels Foundation.
Today Rotary Club Sofia International met at the Kempinski Hotel Zografski Sofia for its 34th regular meeting for the Rotarian year 2013/2014. The members welcomed guests and friends of the club as well as some of the generous sponsors to the Whisky Fundraising Evening. The agenda consisted of announcing the results from the Whisky evening on 9 May, 2014. The event raised 1,300 BGN for two noble causes – for a Vocational Training for youngsters leaving the institutions, who are part of the House of Opportunity Program of FSCI (Foundation for Social Change and Inclusion), the prime agency of The Trussell Trust in Bulgaria, and for support of Eyes On Four Paws – the Bulgarian school for guide dogs.
Rotary Club Sofia International is proud to announce that the 4th Annual Whisky Tasting Charity Night (the 2014 “Whisky & Cigar Partnership Evening”) was a memorable experience and a success in terms of funds raised. The event was held on Friday, 09 May, 2014 at Kempinski Hotel Zografski Sofia and gathered more than 120 guests – Rotarians, Rotaractors, and many friends of Rotary. The event’s sponsors have prepared different whisky brands, chocolate, juices, water for the guests. The hosts also hosted an auction and a raffle.
Today Rotary Club Sofia International held its 33dr regular meeting for the 2013/2014 Rotarian year at the Kempinski Hotel Zografski Sofia. The agenda offered last-minute information on the upcoming Whisky evening on 9 May, 2014. The scenario for the evening was discussed, the position of the sponsors was finally confirmed. Members were reminded to come earlier on Friday to help with the preparation of the fundraising evening and to meet and greet the guests.
Today Rotary Club Sofia International enjoyed another great regular meeting which took place at Vitosha Hall in Kempinski Hotel Zografski. The meeting started with a presentation of the A+ Gallery – the newest gallery for young Bulgarian art talents from young Bulgarian enterpreneurs. The gallery and its work was presented by Ms. Angelika Radeva and Ms. Silvia Yonkova – the owners of the space and the concept for this innovative business. The evening was also garnished with a presentation of the newest wines of Little Star Winery.
