(Dec 3) 10th Christmas Charity Puppet Theater Project by RC Sofia International (+GAL)

On 3 December, Rotary Club Sofia International once again visited the village of Yakimovo and Father Ivan’s shelter.

We provided for Christmas Puppet show “Christmas Magic” by private Pupper theather “Gluharcheta” with director Tanya Gigova. Santa Claus also was there and he awarded all of the kids. They were very happy to receive presents specially prepared for them.

Apart from the personal attention, Rotary Club Sofia International donated numerous toys, children’s books, sweets, necessary school supplies, hats, t-shirts, and essential food supplies, as well as 160 donuts from McDonalds.

Also Rotary Club Sofia International donated and delivered 13 cubic meters of wood with a free shuttle directly at home of Father Ivan, thanks to Prof. Ivan Iliev, Rector of the Forestry University.

All of the presents are around 3,500 BGN, those money were collected during the Octoberfest in Hilton, and from private donations by our members and friends.

This year once again we received help by Nikola Gechev – Director Corporate Sales of Vivacom, Svetoslav Nikolov – Managing Director of BE 4, Lidl, and of course theatre “Gluharcheta” .

Watching over the organization of the event in the houses of Father Ivan were personally the President of Rotary Club Sofia International – Mr. Horst Stüer and the longtime member of the club and main organizer of the Christmas puppet theater – Dr. Snejana Doncheva.

Members and friends of the Club were also, together with our Rotaract Club.
