(Aug 15) RC Sofia International Presented at SOFIMUN 6 (+GAL)
The Rotary concept and the work of Rotary Club Sofia International as part of the biggest world humanitarian non-governmental organization, Rotary International, was presented at the 6th edition of the SOFIMUN Foundation project – Sofia International Model United Nations – an international youth leaders summit which took place in Sofia, Bulgaria for a 6th consecutive year. The presentation was delivered by Mr. Dimiter Mandradjiev, a member of RC Sofia International and founder of the SOFIMUN platform. The event was organized by the SOFIMUN Foundation with head of the project, Mr. Milen Christov, a former Interact member and currently Rotaract member as well as SOFIMUN Alumni member.
The event gathered around 70 participants (Rotaract, Interact and non-Rotary affiliated) from 12 nations from 4 continents in Sofia, Bulgaria for interesting debates. The event gathered young and prominent leaders, who acquired skills on the techniques and ways the UN works. The event promoted intercultural activities by sightseeing visits, international happenings, knowledge sharing, cuisine exchange, leadership workshops, guest speakers presentations, sessions on various topics. Among the other presenters was Mr. Mathias Diether, Cultural attache of the German Embassy in Sofia and Mr. Hristian Daskalov, Secretary-General of the National Student Council. The event was organized in New Bulgarian University as part of the International program for activities of the National Student Council of Bulgaria and the Student Council of New Bulgarian University. A big gratitude is expressed to all Past District Governors of D-2482 and to Mr. Valentin Stoyanov for supporting the event. Also words of gratitude are sent to all Rotary and non-Rotary members who supported the event.
