(22 Mar) Wine Evening at Linda’s Home (+GAL)

We had the pleasure of meeting for the second time this year at Linda’s home on 22.03.2023. It was a very pleasant evening and our candidate member Mr. Serkan Halil was also with us, which gave us the opportunity to get to know him better. A total of nine people benefited from Linda’s hospitality and the pasta she prepared. Linda is an unsurpassed master at making Italian pasta and because she is so good at it people recommend her to turn her hobby into a business. Those of us present tasted the different types of pasta and gave our appreciation. Of course, this was all accompanied by wine, which many of us brought for the meeting. After all, the meeting was billed as a wine evening, but it might as well have been called pasta evening.

Our President, Mr. Rumen Rusinov made several announcements, some regarding the internal affairs of the club, and then reported on the club’s plans for the upcoming fundraising event to be held at the National Museum of History. Thanks to Hristina’s husband, Hristina and our President met the same day with the Director of the National Museum of History – Associate Professor Boni Petrunova, who has been a guest of our club before and who has offered her support for the charity initiative by generously sponsoring the museum’s Sun Room for the event.

This year our club will support the National Field Hockey Team for children with Intellectual Disabilities – ID Team and the event will be held on 17th of May this year. The goal is to support the Field Hockey ID Team to participate at the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin this year, which for people with intellectual problems are equivalent to the Olympic Games. A Fund-raising team will be formed. There is a lot of organizational work to be done, and the club will focus its efforts in this noble cause. Also, other Rotary Clubs will be invited as partners. Rotary Club Gorna Banya and Rotary Club Sofia Vitosha have confirmed interest supporting the event.

During the meeting, Alain from Rotary Club Paris Agora phoned regarding their invitation for our club to visit Paris on the weekend of 10-11 June.

It was nice to have time to discuss club matters, future projects and just to spend a very nice evening with friends at Linda’s home. Thank you, Linda!
