Rotary Club Sofia International 3rd Annual Puppet Theater Trip for Kids from Social Homes
On Saturday December 5 members of The Rotary International Club of Sofia, along with members of Rotaract, Interact and friends, organized and supported a day out for 106 disadvantaged children from orphanages around Sofia.
The day began with breakfast kindly donated by MacDonalds, followed by a walk to the puppet theater on Gurko Street, where all the children thoroughly enjoyed the show. Afterwards, they all received a gift bag of goodies kindly donated by Nestle.
The children then walked happily back to the buses (escorted by local policemen who had been supervising and managing traffic during the events), waving at everyone who had been with them throughout the morning.
“This was the moment when so many of us felt emotional at having to wave goodbye, however they had all had such a memorable and fun morning,” said Philip Clayton from Sofia’s Rotary International Club. “We would like to thank everyone who supported this event and everyone who kindly made donations whether financial, (with a special thanks to Bulgarian Developments Ltd), material gifts or just came along and provided their valuable time.”
