(Oct 22) Fascinating Regular Meeting of RC Sofia International
Today Rotary Club Sofia International held its 5th regular weekly meeting of 2014-2015 Rotarian year at the Kempinski Hotel Zografski Sofia. The members of the club, Roatarctors, and numerous guests and friends had the pleasure to meet and learn more about the career and future plans of the famous Bulgarian Jazz and Pop singer, also a fellow Rotarian, Mr. Vassil Petrov. Later the meeting continued with a discussion of the upcoming opportunity projects of the club, as well as with the organization of the Christmas Ball for the Sofia Rotary Clubs, which this year will be organized and hosted by RC Sofia International. Later the fellowship continued with drinks at a nearby bar.
Rotaract Club Sofia International held its regular weekly meeting of 2014-2015 Rotarian year at the St.Ekaterina Hospital on Fryday, 17 October 2014.
Today Rotary Club Sofia International held its 3rd regular weekly meeting of 2014-2015 Rotarian year at the Kempinski Hotel Zografski Sofia. The members of the club and numerous guests and friends had the opportunity to discuss the club activities for the next months.
Our friend and member of RC Sofia International Ms. Ani Hristova visited Rotary Club Haskovo-Aida today. The main topic of the meeting was the organization of the 10 Year Birthday of the club. The members of RC Sofia International are all invited to the party on 13 December 2014. The theme of the event is Viennese Ball.
Today Rotary Club Sofia International held its regular weekly meeting at the Kempinski Hotel Zografski Sofia. The members of the club and numerous guests and friends had the opportunity to hear from Mrs. Daisy Lang – World and European female boxing champion, an expose of her career, professional achievements, and and inspiring life. We also had the pleasure to welcome Mrs. Maria Grozdeva (Olympic, European, Bulgarian National champion, World Championship medalist in sport shooting). We welcomed Mr. Georgi Agafonov (one of the resurrectors of Rotary in Bulgaria after 1990). The members and guests enjoyed a wonderful evening with music delivered by a young Bulgarian piano musician (laureate of prestigious awards). We welcomed Rotaract and Interact friends from other Rotary families.
Our friend and member of RC Sofia International, Dr. Andreas J. Kraus, has visited the Rotary Clubs of Tavira and Faro in Portugal. He sent regards to the friends in Portugal and updated them on the projects our club is involved in. He also exchanged flags with the Presidents of the two clubs.
Rotary Club Sofia International participated in the 2014 Annual Football Tournament of Rotary Bulgaria – “The District Governor’s Cup”, organized by Rotary Club Sofia Vitosha. The event was held at the mini-football complex at Academic Stadium in Sofia. The project gathered more than 50 Rotarians and Rotaract members from the District who had the pleasure to share a wonderful day together while playing for fun and charity. The tournament was opened by the Past District Governor Mr. Plamen Minev and by Mrs. Violeta Toncheva. There were eight teams which played against each other. The members of Rotary Club Sofia International took part in the organization committee (our friend Dimiter Mandradjiev), was active in the audience (our friend Ani Hristova) and was part of the team “The Blue Guillotine” (our friend Dimiter Mandradjiev – goalkeeper). The event started at 10:00 h. and continued until 18:00 h. “The Blue Guillotine” managed to defeat 4 of the teams.
During the summer members of Rotary Club Sofia International visited the Leskovac Grill Festival in Serbia (Serbian: Роштиљијада, Roštiljijada, also translated as “barbecue week”). It is a yearly grilled-meat festival organized in Leskovac. The main boulevard of the city is closed for traffic for five days and is filled with grill-stands to create many temporary restaurants.
