Guest speakers at the conference were the secretary of Rotary International, the mayor of Londonderry and the District Governor of Ireland. There were more than 60 Rotarians, participating in the event. Our fellow Bulgarian friends joined them with a mission – to introduce the need of an additional international partner for the Global Grant project of Rotary Club Samokov. Radina, who is part of the District of International Service Committee, introduced the topic with a short presentation.
At the end of the meeting the president of our Rotaract Club Sofia International Ms. Nevena Ivanova made a short update on the plans and projects of their club. The club members are taking an active part in the organization of the National initiative of Rotaract Clubs in District 2482, Bulgaria – RotaRun Bulgaria. Last year the club suggested their project – RotaRun Sofia and the project won with majority to become a National Initiative. We are very proud with our Rotaractors.
The initiative is expected to be held in fifteen cities across Bulgaria on 13 May 2023. Their cause is to support an information campaign for stem cells donation and groups for psychological help for people who have been diagnosed with leukemia, myeloma or other types of lymphoma. In this regard, Rotaract needs sponsors and partners like medical institutions, vendors for sport equipment, clothes, food, beverages, etc.
