(17 May) Regular Meeting of Rotary Club Sofia International (+GAL)

Rotary Club Sofia International held its regular meeting in Hilton Sofia on 17 May 2017 and was presided by Ms. Ani Hristova, President Elect. We had the pleasure to welcome Mrs. Rania Akavi from Rotary Club Bodensee Engen A81 and Mrs. Helen Johnson from Rotary Club of Tower Hamlets. We also had Ms. Aleksanda and Ms. Rostitsa from Interact Club to 91^st German Language School.

After opening the meeting and introducing the guests, Ani briefly explained about the Blend It! 2017 – the Traditional Whiskey Tasting Fundraising Evening of the club for which we will soon be posting more information. Later on Ani congratulated Mrs. Radka Stamenova for her success in New Delhi at the Women Economic Forum (WEF) 2017. More info here: https://rc-si.org/new/?p=12485.

The President Elect also explained about the project of our Rotaract Club Sofia International “Keep our Earth Clean”, which was held on 14 May in the South Park. Our Rotaractors cleaned the area of the cigarette butts. Our member Cris was there and he shared how nice it was and how they involved the visitors of the park to also help and together succeeded to clean 3 playgrounds. Congratulations, dear young friends.

Aleksandra and Rostitsa from Interact Club to 91^st German Language School invited us to their annual charity ball. The theme is inspired by the 20th century, and with the money raised, they will create a platform for students who are involved in art and grant them scholarships to develop their talents.

We received one more special invitation from the home for children in Doganovo. They invited us to graduation of 2 kids of their home – Kostadin Yordanov and Borislav Sokolov on 25.05.2017, from 14:30 h in the home of Doganovo.

When the official part finished the members continued the fellowship in the lobby lounge and in the nearby bar, where part of the members welcomed the birthday of Michail Sougarev. Happy Birthday Misho. We wish you all the best.
