(1 Oct) Exhibition What Rotarians Did for Their City by Rotary Club Sofia (+GAL)
Exhibition What Rotarians Did for Their City by Rotary Club Sofia opened on 1 October 2020. It is hosted in the exhibition hall under the domes of Largo in Sofia and is accessible to visitors.
The exhibition presents 18 posters. They show the contribution of the oldest Rotary club in Bulgaria – Rotary Club Sofia – and its members, to the development of our capital. The main projects of the club are presented. These are related to better education and literacy, protection of children’s and mother’s health, work with young people, prevention of significant diseases, landscaping, support of science and culture, improvement of road safety, assistance provided to the cultural institutions of Sofia municipality.
Herewith some of the mentioned above projects:
- Polio vaccination in 1995 within the Rotary program Polio Plus;
- The joint project with RK Koblenz for the complete reconstruction of the children’s pulmonology clinic in Alexandrovska Hospital;
- Annual screening of the thyroid gland among adolescents;
- Traveling mammogram;
- Project Give Way to Life to improve the safety of young people on the roads and streets – a joint project with all the Sofia Rotary Clubs.
The Deputy Mayor of Sofia Мunicipality, Dr. Chobanov, opened the exhibition with a welcome speech. He emphasized that Sofia Municipality have found worthy partners in Rotarians.
Ms. Hristova was our club’s representative at the opening of the exhibition What Rotarians Did for Their City in the exhibition hall under the domes of Largo in Sofia. She was accompanied and shown around by Ms. Andrea Datzova from Rotaract Club Sofia.
We hope that a wide audience will come to visit this exhibition that shows the achievements of Rotary. We hope that this type of event will inspire many people to get involved with us.
This exhibition also demonstrates that we are capable of joining forces to bring major projects to fruition.
